These companies don't profit from us as individuals. They profit from us en masse: millions of people scrolling, seeing ads and generating data.
That's where the value is, so that's where our leverage is. An Attention Strike is a coordinated day off: large numbers of us stepping away at the same time and withdrawing the one thing these platforms can't run without.
27 November is Buy Nothing Day: an internationally recognised day against mass overconsumption and consumerism. It's also Black Friday.
We're attaching our Attention Strike to it, and bringing Big Tech into the conversation about consumer choice. While we buy nothing, we strike every Big Tech platform at the same time.
